Work is beginning behind the scenes as the EU moves towards developing its next Multiannual Financial Framework - the all-important regulatory structure determining annual financial allocations.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the key Council meeting that will see member states approve the negotiating brief for the next phase of Brexit talks.

What's on the agenda this month

March will see the Parliament vote on the initiative on a European Strategy on Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems.
 
Work will also continue on the own-initiative on Odometer manipulation.
 
In the aviation sector, the TRAN Committee is expected to discuss the proposal on the certification system for aviation security screening equipment and vote on the draft Report on the Proposal for a Regulation on competition in air transport.
