by Darius Mikulenas, EU Policy Analyst
The TRAN Committee is set to consider compromise amendments to the Mobility package this May. The same Committee is also scheduled to vote on its draft report on driver resting times and achographs, and road charging measures for heavy goods vehicles later in the month.
The ENVI Committee is due to discuss the draft report on the proposal for setting emission performance standards for new passenger and light commercial vehicles, while the Plenary is expected to vote on the common rules for the operation of air service in the Community.
Among new proposals, May should mark the launch of the Third Mobility Package, and a proposal on the revision of the Directive relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles as part of the Capital Markets Union package.
