What's on the agenda this month
by Darius Mikulenas, Transport Policy Executive
With October in full swing, the schedules in the EU institutions are proving to be busy and focused heavily on road transport.
Plenary will debate the proposal on charging of heavy goods vehicles for the use of certain infrastructures. Work will also continue on the general safety regulation with votes on Opinions to the proposal taking place in respective Committees.
On emission side, ENVI is due to vote on its proposal on CO2 emission performance standards for new heavy-duty vehicles, while Plenary will pass on the baton to the Council with its vote on proposal on promoting clean and energy-efficient road transport.
