What's on the agenda this month
by Jeroen DeMarteau, Financial Services Policy Executive
In October, the ECON Committee in the European Parliament discusses the review of the European Supervisory Authorities while the ECOFIN Council focusses on anti-money laundering supervision and the VAT Reform.
The European Commission plans to organise a public consultation on the fitness checks of supervisory reporting requirements, which complements the EMIR as well as the ESAs review.
Later on in the month, on 15 October, the Single Resolution Board will hold its third conference under the theme: ’10 years after the crisis: are banks now resolvable?’.
In the Council the Working Party on Financial Services will discuss the proposals regarding Sustainable Finance, while the ECON Committee will continue to discuss, among other proposals, the Integrated Covered Bonds Package, MiFID II, and cross border distribution of collective investment funds.
