The Spanish EU Presidency agenda – 'What to expect'
A few days before Spain takes over the Council Presidency from Sweden, DeHavilland EU is pleased to bring together Iban García del Blanco MEP and the Elcano Royal Institute’s Raquel García, two experts on Spanish politics, who will provide their thoughts on what we can expect from Spain’s helming of the Council in the midst of national elections in July.
The session, taking place online, will occur between 10:00 – 11:00 CEST on Wednesday 14 June.
Over the next six months the Council will negotiate on major files amidst the geopolitical crisis in Ukraine, the ascent of AI, and the aim of reducing emissions significantly.
This session is specifically focused on providing insights for public and government affairs professionals looking to engage with and support the work of the Spanish Presidency, with a focus on understanding how the Spanish Government will approach the Trio’s agenda for the next six months.

The EU's Data Act
The panel will discuss what opportunities the Data Act will bring to businesses and policymakers; how stakeholders should prepare for the new rules and how these will impact their operations.
Business representatives and policymakers will exchange views on business-to-business and business-to-government data sharing, data portability, the protection of intellectual property, and other topics included within the Data Act.

Is the EU Fit for 55? A DeHavilland EU discussion
DeHavilland EU is pleased to announce that its next event will take place between 09:00 – 10:00 CET on Tuesday 24 May, focusing on the EU’s landmark Fit for 55 package.
Under the milestone initiative of the EU Green Deal to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050, Fit for 55 aims to see greenhouse gas emissions reduced by at least 55% by the end of the decade. To explore this further, DeHavilland EU brings together an expert panel to assess its progress.

The Czech EU Presidency agenda - what to expect
A few days before the Czech Republic takes over the Council Presidency from France, DeHavilland EU is pleased to bring together Tomáš Zdechovský MEP Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgetary Control and Europeum’s Zuzana Stuchlíková, two experts on Czech politics, who will provide their thoughts on what we can expect from the Czech Republic’s helming of the Council.
The session, taking place online, will occur between 14:30 – 15:30 CET on Tuesday 21 June.

DeHavilland EU is pleased to be hosting a one-on-one discussion with Vice President of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala MEP, JURI Shadow Rapporteur for the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
As a landmark piece of legislation making its way through the EU institutions, the CSDDD will impact most businesses operating across the bloc.
A seasoned MEP with experience in both Brussels and national Government, DeHavilland is thrilled to be able to welcome Ms Hautala for a discussion on the Directive, its progress so far, and the touchpoints for public affairs teams looking to engage with this milestone policy, ahead of the trilogue negotiations.

Emma Brown, SEAP Vice President (Welcome and intro remarks)
Emma is the Director of Public Affairs at CropLife Europe, representing sustainable crop protection solutions. Before joining CropLife Europe, Emma held various positions in Red Flag Consulting, a global campaigns consultancy, and acumen public affairs, a Brussels-based public affairs company working on different policy topics such as environment, agriculture, financial services, digital, consumer safety and healthcare. She also has experience in Toy Industries of Europe and the European Commission. Emma holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and European studies and two masters degrees in International Relations and Law.

Christina Kouremenou is the Senior Energy Consultant for Dehavilland EU, Team Lead for the EU Policy department, oversees the EU teams operations and coordinates the monitoring of high level policy developments.
Michael Wimmer, Director - Strategy, Better Regulation & Corporate Governance (SG.A) at the European Commission
Mr Michael Wimmer is Director of ‘Strategy, Better Regulation & Corporate Governance’ in the Secretariat-General, after having headed other units in the Secretariat-General such as ‘Multiannual Financial Framework and Annual Management Cycle’, ‘Corporate Management, Budget and Administration’, ‘Internal Market and Competitiveness' and ‘Coreper II'.
He joined the European Commission in 2003 as Administrator in the Directorate-General for Employment and Social Affairs, after having been Administrator and Legal officer in the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Austria, Attaché in the Austrian Embassy in Paris and Legal Adviser in the Permanent Representation of Austria to the European Union.
Moritz Körner, Member of the European Parliament, Renew Europe Group
Moritz Körner, born in 1990, is a member of the presidium of the FDP and Secretary General of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia. He is a member of the European Parliament since May 2019. Moritz Körner is a member of the committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the committee on Budgets. He is Vice President in the Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware. He was negotiator of the Renew Europe Group for the Multiannual Financial Framework and currently serves as its negotiator for E-Evidence. Furthermore he was Renew Europe´s shadow rapporteur for the Rule of Law Mechanism. Moritz Körner is also a member of the delegation for the relations with the People’s Republic of China and a substitute in the delegation for the relations with the Republic of India.
He was the leading candidate of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia for the European elections in 2019. Prior he was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament and spokesperson of the parliamentary investigatory committee on the Amri case, better known as the Berlin Christmas market terror attack. From 2013 until 2018, Körner was the chairman of Young Liberals North Rhine-Westphalia, the Youth wing of the FDP.
Dr. Frank Montag, Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
Frank draws on over 30 years’ experience to defend his clients’ interests in EU and multijurisdictional competition procedures and investigations.
With increasing intra-agency co-operation in merger and cartel investigations, clients need a globally co-ordinated defence. Frank’s practice has brought him before the European Commission, Germany’s Bundeskartellamt and other key global authorities, including the US DOJ and FTC and China’s Mofcom, in some of the most complex merger transactions and investigations into anti-competitive practices. He is also an experienced litigator before the European courts in Luxemburg.
