Malta EU Presidency Briefing
Inside the Maltese Presidency
1 January 2017 will see Malta take the reins of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, replacing the outgoing Slovak Presidency.
With the first half of 2017 set to be busy with the opening of negotiations on the UK's withdrawal from the EU, DeHavilland EU has prepared an essential briefing on the Maltese Presidency, covering everything you need to know for the next six months.
The briefing includes an introduction from Maltese MEPs Mirian Dalli and Marlene Mizzi. It introduces the role of the Presidency, profiles the key players in the Maltese Government, provides key dates, and – perhaps most importantly – offers analysis on what to expect from the Presidency in terms of political and legislative priorities.
