Is the EU Fit for 55? A DeHavilland EU discussion

24 May 2022 Online

DeHavilland EU is pleased to announce that its next event will take place between 09:00 – 10:00 CET on Tuesday 24 May, focusing on the EU’s landmark Fit for 55 package.

Under the milestone initiative of the EU Green Deal to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050, Fit for 55 aims to see greenhouse gas emissions reduced by at least 55% by the end of the decade. To explore this further, DeHavilland EU brings together an expert panel to assess its progress.

Drawing on the insight of policy makers, industry and technical experts, this session will provide:

  • An overview of the files and their progress so far

  • Insights into what can be expected next for the package

  • Discussion of the touchpoints for engaging with the legislations’ development

  • Audience Q&A with the panellists

Taking place virtually, the session has limited places to ensure there is enough time for a wide range of questions from the audience.

Panellists

Ismail Ertug MEP, S&D Germany; TRAN rapporteur for alternative fuels infrastructure and batteries legislation

Kieran Watkins, Senior Consultant, EU Regulatory and Public Affairs, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

Christina Kouremenou, Senior Consultant, DeHavilland EU (Chair)

The Czech EU Presidency agenda - what to expect

21 June 2022 Online

A few days before the Czech Republic takes over the Council Presidency from France, DeHavilland EU is pleased to bring together Tomáš Zdechovský MEP Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgetary Control and Europeum’s Zuzana Stuchlíková, two experts on Czech politics, who will provide their thoughts on what we can expect from the Czech Republic’s helming of the Council.

The session, taking place online, will occur between 14:30 – 15:30 CET on Tuesday 21 June.

Over the next six months the Council will negotiate on major files amidst the geopolitical crisis in Ukraine, EU efforts to combat a rise in energy prices, and the aim of reducing emissions significantly.

This session is specifically focused on providing insights for public and government affairs professionals looking to engage with and support the work of the Czech Presidency, with a focus on understanding how the Czech Government will approach the Trio’s agenda for the next six months.

Tomáš Zdechovský MEP (EPP, Czech Republic)
